Summary/Abstract: The research in recent years reveals that the agrarian reform of 1945 was primarily a punitive action (and not reconstructive), directed to some segments of the population which had proved hostile to the Communists and especially to the Romanian German population, which was considered totally guilty of collaboration with Nazism. The spearhead of the design and implementation of agrarian reform was the Front of Plowman’s organization, headed by Petru Groza and subdued to the Romanian Communist Party (PCdR). The organization has a free hand in the villages, where its activities were to ensure to the communist government, dominated by PCdR, sympathy and adherence of rural population. In this article the researcher presents an unpublished document that describes the case of Ioan Podea, president of the Front of Plowman’s Brasov County’s organization. On his own initiative and with the help of armed guards he interned 600 local Saxon peasants into concentration camps; also he seized food from the Saxons and had established a cooperative to sell them. His activities were stopped after an investigation on the spot coordinate by the Minister of Interior, Teohari Georgescu himself.
