Summary/Abstract: Ageing of population, especially the dynamic growth in the number of the oldest citizens, leads to increasing the demand for assistance in daily life. First, a senior is taken care by a spouse, then by children and other relatives. Support and care of a dependent elderly person is mainly provided by women aged 45-64 years. At the same time, these women are often involved by their own children to take care of their grandchildren because the social role of grandmother is to care for the youngest generation. There is a problem of sharing time between taking care of grandchildren and dependent parents. The purpose of this article is to show the potential of providing support and care for grandchildren and reliant seniors. To achieve this goal I will rely on available research.
