Summary/Abstract: For two decades it has become conspicuous that many of the routine treatments applied to other professionals or to sportsmen do not satisfy the musicians’ requirements. These ones not only expect the pain elimination and the functional restoration of the organs contributing to musical playing but also the total recovery of the sensitivity and of the precision in movements, necessary for still practicing the profession. The sick musician’s recovery must consider both his psychology and his physical capacity to play a score. These requirements led to the apparition of a new medicine branch, focused on the musicians’ professional diseases.
