Summary/Abstract: The article presents the way of the pastoral communication through preaching the meaning and significance of the “plentiful Redemption” (Ps 130:7) in the life and homiletic activity of martyr and Redemptorist priest Zenon Kovalyk, CSsR (1903–1941). The article describes Fr. Kovalyk as experienced pastor, whose pastoral formation was strict influenced by the Redemptorist spirituality, considering soteriological perspective as the main motivation for the earth mission of Jesus Christ. The preaching’s features of Z. Kovalyk represent the Savior as the only and indispensable Redemptor of the mankind sent by God. Through His “kenosis” and obedient behavior, Jesus voluntary surrendered himself into the hands of sinners up to death on the Cross. The first person, who took part in the redemption plan according to preaching words of Fr. Kovalyk, was the Mother of God – Theotokos. Through her full dedication and sacrifice to God she became a real model and first example of the redeemed person among all human persons. Her life is also an encouragement for every person to establish close cooperation with God. The Sacraments, especially the Eucharist, in sermons of Fr. Z. Kovalyk provide an opportunity for the audience to active participation in the continuing implementation of the redemption of the world through Christ, doing spiritual and missionary life.
