It concerns the way of organizing the old Ukrainian family, the models of its internal functioning, the family mythology, as well as the elements relating to the everyday life of an ancient family, particularly to the house as a space for the realization of family life. The article faces the significant positive influence of the Christian religion, which came to Rus-Ukraine in 988, just because the understanding of family as sacred institution raised it into environment, where it participants can reach the deification. So, the space where Ukrainian family uses everyday – the family home – received the features of a special sacred place.
