Summary/Abstract: The key terms of Qur’anic vocabulary, as well as those less frequent, most often have their opposite; they correlate through binary oppositions, therefore, the Qur’anic view on world and existence can be viewed through the prism of this opposing terms, that is, their binary oppositions. These terms are evident exactly in the way the truth and falseness are, according to the Qur’anic world-view. One can argue with certainty that the Qur’an develops its world-view from the basic binary opposition which is in the core of its Idea, and it is The Unicity of the Creator – the duality of creation. The subject of this work is the stylistic analysis of the Qur’anic binary opposition light – darkness which is extraordinary meaningful, especially if it is understood as one of the strong Qur’anic metaphors. The author is trying to discover the way these two notions, which are correlating as binary oppositions, act in the overall conceptual system of The Qur’an and thus contribute to the making of the Qur’anic view on world and existence. The work also tries to point out that this metaphor surpasses the limits of stylistics and moves to the sphere of philosophy and religion, and finally becomes a very strong semiotic sign in the Oriental-Islamic culture and civilization.
