Summary/Abstract: The article presents the written autobiography of Tadey Markov Ivanov (father Hrabar), а Uniate priest. It consists of six parts, drawn up in separate books; it has not been in circulation and it covers the period from his birth to his stay in prison after being sentenced in the trial against the Catholics in Bulgaria (1916-1956). What constructs and reconstructs the experience is the point of view of the priest. It prefigures the interpretation as an autobiographic narrative. The affiliation is searched in the experiences and manifestations through images in accordance with the social context around them. Predetermination, heaven’s patronage, apostolic 1ife, unanimity in the church, martyrdom, etc. are outlined as having extreme significance. An important role for the confessional identification is paid to portents. The biographic crises (marked by the acceptance of the Tsarigrad rituality, the condemnation, the Jack of opportunity to continue his work as а priest after serving the sentence) can be distinguished by psychological signs such as the looks aside, the unwillingness to speak at some moments, by the strategies used for biographical legitimisation in situations as identity crises – clearing up the biographical narrative from the feelings of fear, faint-heartedness, vacillation, the accent upon the martyrdom and the higher Christian values, the return to the family and kin, the reestimation of all these values.
