Summary/Abstract: The article studies the verbal texts and drawings, created during the two most important protest events that took place in Sofia in the summer of 1990 (the students’ occupational strike and “The town of Truth”). These texts form a specific macrotext based on a uniform code system, uniform semantic structure, unified functional characteristics and fixed communicational features. The essential role of these texts is to criticize and to reject which points out their parody nature. The article uses the notion of parody as a large concept determining some creative inspirations in certain conditions. The parody features of the object studied in the article are analysed in structural and functional plans. The authors examine the social context in which the written texts with drawings are created and functioning. The drawings are described and the texts are grouped by themes and genres. The means of expression and the forms used to produce the parody effect are studied. The authors point out the situational dependency of the texts examined. The situation, including the general parameters of the social and cultural background, as well as the specific pragmatic context in which the texts are functioning, generates the motivation, the contents, the functions, the forms and the models, as well as, the types of text decoding processes. The situation defines the application, the pragmatic value and the authenticity of the texts. The analysis is broadened by considerations on the generation, the propagation and the realisation of the graphic texts, concentrated on the importance of the subjects of cultural communication.
