Summary/Abstract: The aim of the publication is to focus attention to the fact that in the implementation of the third stage of the process of creating a new product, namely the selection of a new product idea, there can be used, with some modifications, the method of strategic reflection. In practice, different procedures are used to make a selection of new product ideas. Strategic reflection method, because of its ownership, allows to look at the perspectives of a new product at the same time from the angle of two groups of factors deciding about their future, i.e. “quality” of the potential that the company has and can use to implement ideas and expectations that the market shows in terms of an idea of the product.
