Summary/Abstract: The article is of the research nature. An aim of the publication is to present the importance of various sources of acquisition of marketing information by commercial enterprises of various sizes carrying out activities in the Polish market. The information base of the formulated theses is findings of own surveys carried out by the Chair of Marketing of the Krakow University of Economics in 2013 on the scope and determinants of the use of marketing by enterprises. For enterprises, both large and small, importance of individual sources of information is the same. There clearly prevail own experience and intuition, while of minor importance is research commission to specialised agencies. Differentiation of the importance of use of sources of information by type of enterprises is low. Large enterprises more often use ready information originating from various external sources and their own marketing research. Small enterprises more often use their own records.
