The scope of innovation activity for the benefit of environment in mining enterprises

Summary/Abstract: The objective of innovation activity is to increase the efficiency of enterprises. Among the implemented innovations there are also those that aim for reducing the environmental impact during the manufacture or use of the product. Such innovations are part of a policy of resource efficiency. This article describes how to define proecological innovations and categorize them. The scope of activities provided by an enterprise to implement innovations with environmental benefits should be continuously monitored, based on the same indicators and constant research methodology. The types and scope of the implementation of this kind of innovation for the mining sector have been described in article. The percentage of mining enterprises introducing innovations with environmental benefits is similar or even higher than the percentage of total industrial enterprises. However, they should pay more attention to innovations with environmental benefits when the project is used.
