Structural changes and competitiveness in the Polish industry

Summary/Abstract: Industry is one of the major structural components of the Polish economy. Previous studies, concerning the role of industry in Poland, focused on the analysis of the participation of the entire sector or particular sectors in GDP or on the generation of value added and employment. This approach does not give full understanding what the role of this sector in the improvement of competitiveness of Polish economy is. Therefore, the author using the ranking analysis and correlation indicators, attempts to identify relationships between the structural changes taking place in Polish industry and its competitiveness.
