Summary/Abstract: In this essay I shall endeavor to delimit the place of the Albanian popular costumes in relation to that of the other peoples of that country. To this end, I begin by briefly analyzing some of the most important clues that make it possible to highlight concordances and distances or differences. Such clues are: the material and technologies applied to the manufacture of clothing in these countries since the eighteenth century and following, and then the types of costumes found in two or more peoples. I then present particular elements of clothing having had a large extent in this area in antiquity and in the Middle Ages. Lately, I try to give conclusions.
