Summary/Abstract: The present study presents a series of missionary aspects of pilgrimage in the contemporary society and its results in the life of the Christians. The religious pilgrimage represents an essential component in the missionary space of The Church. It has multiple motivations and numerous spiritual signifi cances when is accomplished with the faith that it represents a way to become closer to God and get to an intense knowledge of Living God. The pilgrims are people wanting to visit and worship sacred biblical places, the tombs of the martyrs, the remains of the saints, the miraculous icons or places where Fathers with an improved life live. The majority of religions worldwide present the desire of a stronger experience of religiosity through the initiatic travel. If the pre-Christian religions had space and time as fundamental criteria of pilgrimage, Christians have as essential the personal aspect. The interpersonal relation, always unique and not repeatable in the relationship of every one of us with God, is multiplying and diversifying, being projected and integrated to a community level.
