Summary/Abstract: The prominent Hungarian writer who belongs to those who opposed Stalinism and had to pay for their beliefs with harsh years of detention, followed by persecution in the fight against communist oppression is depicting his last battle. This time, the battle is fought on the existential front, and the former dissident and fighter turned author is putting it in writing with the sapped powers of a man in death’s throes.
