Summary/Abstract: “Culture is not the (civilisatory) recreation and perfection of a given original, but it is always the reinterpretation of something unfixable.” The study makes an attempt to redefine hungarology, which is possible through a kind of intercultural hermeneutics. The correferations discuss Kulcsár Szabó’s writing along notions like cultural studies, interdisciplinarity or national self-recognition.
