Summary/Abstract: The main goal of this paper is to popularize an almost unstudied text from the period of Bulgarian national revival – the Vita of St. Rada, a female neomartyr from Plovdiv. The Life of the Saint is noteworthy for the transformations, applied to the hagiographical genre, adapting its characteristic features to the new socio-cultural situation in Bulgaria.
