The electronic records of the immobile patrimony of Galati county

Summary/Abstract: The article depicts the process of creating an electronic database comprising most of the available data (information and also images) regarding the immobile patrimony of Galaţi County. The newly created database refers to religious and lay important buildings, both urban edifices and rustic villas, to the memorial houses, to the statuary monuments, old or contemporary. Two more particular categories of the database are the collection of postcards and images from the town of Galaţi, at the end of the XIX-th century – the beginning of the XX-th, and the conclusions of the census of the buildings from the town, realized in 1939. The report includes references to many demolished edifices or even whole quarters.
