Summary/Abstract: The text is an attempt at a synthetic perspective on a multidimensional activity of Ryszard Gabryś, a composer, poet, man of word and media, piercing analyst-theoretician and philosopher of art being at the same time a pedagogue, social activist and indefatigable initiator of various cultural activities, as well as a supervisor of many theses, and an organizer aware of the responsibility for spiritual issues in the world. Most of the attention was paid to the analysis of his composing output, constituting the most important and close to his heart sphere of creative actions. It is interpreted at four different levels: features of his works, sources of its inspiration, and regularities of the creative process and finally an artistic Credo in line with the reception of compositions by the author himself and professional audience. The article closes with the list of works by Ryszard Gabryś, which is a supplement to and confirmation of the theses voiced therein.
