Artistic Education as a Factor of a Person's Spirituality

Summary/Abstract: The article analyses artistic education (the functioning system and the process of educational art) as a way of stimulating a person's spiritual development. Based on the relational approach that aesthetic is a peculiarity of the relation of a subject and an object, the following stages of the development of a person's relations are distinguished: aestheticism, artistry and spirituality. This spirituality model includes the relations with the environment objects as well as art subjects, a person's artistic expression and spiritual reflection. The relations are recorded according to the types of activities of different content, which are evaluated as a system of ways of recording a person's spirituality: the activities, directed to deeper cognition of the means of artistic expression and to the actualization of relations (aesthetic activities), the activities, directed to the materialization of spiritual values, conveyed through a piece of art and to the reorganization of the system (artistic expression), and the activities, directed to the amendment of a person's spiritual values system (spiritual reflection). Changes in a person's spirituality are evaluated according to the parameters' system — quality of artistic activity and changes of this quality in the educational process. The research has shown that the proposed model can record a person's spirituality and the quality of artistic education as well as be a guideline stimulating the development. The distinguished stages of the development of relations, w^ays of recording and parameters of a person's spirituality function as a unified system. The experiment has confirmed that this system is a model of a person's spirituality and its evaluation, whilst the corresponding artistic education is a factor of a person's spirituality.
