Comparative Analysis on Study Quality Evaluation Systems

Summary/Abstract: The article presents analysis on study quality evaluation systems in some European countries — Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Finland, England, the Netherlands, France, the Czech Republic, and Cyprus — and in the USA. Different concepts used in the field of study quality evaluation in these countries are presented. The processes of evaluation, audit and accreditation at institutional and programme levels are analysed. Evaluation aspects defining these levels are discussed with the focus on the institution's mission statement, management, policy and decision making processes, quality of staff, students, funding, development and management/organization of teaching/learning process, quality of educational activities, research policy and organization, quality of research, community services, quality assurance mechanism, realisation of mission and goal achievement, and satisfaction of stakeholders. Standards and criteria for study quality evaluation are described.
