On Hasior’s Anniversary in Zakopane (“A Sting”)

Summary/Abstract: Hasior died of brain cancer in 1999. In 2004, his friends celebrated the 5th anniversary of his death. They organized modern art show in Zakopane. The curator of the show was Gra¿yna Bielska-Kozakiewicz. She invited ten artists from Poland and one from abroad. The show was organized at the City Gallery in Zakopane. Andrzej Szarek showed big installation entitled ‘A Sting’. Ewa Dyakowska-Beberka referred to Hasior’s flags. Kamil Kurkowski showed a series of paintings entitled ‘Crucifixion’. Piotr Bies showed relief pictures entitled ‘Small Beds’, and ‘Reliquary’. Piotr Kurek showed sculpture entitled ‘Love and Gravity’. Marcin Berdyszak showed ‘Waterproof Still Life’, and ‘Untitled Elements’. Marcia Podgórska-Ritter showed installations with fluorescent light. Ilona Binarska referred to the plastic world of Ken and Barbie dolls. Robert Knuth showed a film entitled ‘Zelle No.1’, and Leszek Knaflewski showed ‘Catholic Cola’.
