Summary/Abstract: There is a Roman rural settlement at Ocna Sibiului, Sibiu county, on the site called „Faţa Vacilor-La Lăgădău”, placed on the west side of the town, at 2 km distance, on the left bank of the river Visa. The ceramics found here clearly prove the colonists` ethnos and their Norico-Pannonian origin. During seven research campaigns (2004-2010) the settlement has revealed an impressive number of metal objects: an iron balance, whole brooches and fragments, tools used for shaping and decoration of ceramics, tools and materials for building. The purpose of this study is to analyse them, to identify their cultural and typologic place. We can deduce, on the ground of these remarks, some particularities of economic and cultural life in the settlement and also how the ceramic workshop was functioning, where specific ceramics for the Norico-Pannonian communities from the Dacian province was made.
