Summary/Abstract: Second in a trilogy that tackles Romanian Copyright and Neighbouring Rights in Cinema, this paper specifically addresses the substance of the rights a cinematographic creation generates. Unlike the United States’ legal system that does not recognise the concept of „moral authorship rights”, the Romanian Legal system – following the continental legal reasoning – operates with two distinct set of rights: moral rights and patrimonial rights in cinema law. For how long can a film benefit from copyright protection? Do the patrimonial rights of the director, producer or the actors have an „expiration date”?
