The Relation between Designs and Copyright

Summary/Abstract: Due to the connection with the other aspects of intellectual property rights, the protection of designs poses certain significant difficulties. The hybrid nature of designs brings them closer to copyright through the aesthetic aspect, to the invention patents through their utility and technical aspect, and to trademarks through the way in which they are used. The author presents a brief analysis of the relation between designs and copyright.
