Summary/Abstract: This text valorises for the first time in the Romanian language the multiple pieces of information that the author gathered analyzing thoroughly the almost 1000 Romanian documents preserved in the archive of the Athonite monastery, St. Paul. They present the support offered to it by princes of Wallachia and Moldavia – financial support, support for construction works, subordination of a monastery to one more important (with a presentation of their hegumens, of the immovable property they held along centuries but also the rulers’ favours that they benefited of). Special reference is made to the small and secluded convent Lacu, inhabited by Romanian monks, and which was subordinated to St. Paul Monastery.
