INFLUENCE OF INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGIES ON EMPLOYEE TECHNOSTRESS: SITUATION IN LITHUANIAN ORGANIZATIONS

Summary/Abstract: In most modern organizations, employees’ behavior and wellbeing are heavily influenced by the fast pace of everyday life, changes in assignment accomplishment possibilities due to the rapid development of informational communication technologies (ICT), etc. Foreign researchers have revealed that these factors increase the stress of employees and have a negative influence on their efficiency. Also, an intensive use of informational communication technologies is a source of techno-stress itself. The article analyzes the influence of ICT on a technostress caused in the context of Lithuanian organizations. The results of the research show that employees are working in high technostress conditions formed by objective changes in the global environment, leaders’ attitude to ICT possibilities of increasing employees’ work efficiency, and by the behaviour of employees themselves.
