Summary/Abstract: This paper examines the nature of morality in human society, that is, what ought to be done to alleviate the sufferings of others in the society and give a helping hand in situations of necessity and empathy. This shall be done by theorising on the issue of philanthropy, which might be equalled to altruism- a theory of conduct that aspires to the good of others as the ultimate end for any moral action. This is a form of support being rendered to individuals, societies and groups; looking at it not only from the normative angle but also examining and thematising it from meta-ethics – language discourse and analysis.
