Summary/Abstract: In the recent years, the matters connected with the measure of image have become important in the field of territorial marketing. At the same time the analysis of the structures of perception is one of dominating areas of research on the image of territorial units. An important problem is the issue related to the nature of entry data (if they are symmetrical or asymmetrical). The article is devoted to the possibilities of asymmetrical data analysis in the image research of territorial units. For this purpose, basic definitions and categories have been presented connected with the image and its measurement, and the possibility of asymmetric data modeling. Particular attention was devoted to the possibilities of using asymmetric multidimensional scaling.
