Summary/Abstract: Social responsibility involves understanding the expectations of society in a broader perspective. The interest in “social responsibility” initially focused on business.The term “Corporate Social Responsibility” (CSR) was used then. Social responsibility also applies to all organizations, not just business organizations. The paper shows the importance of social responsibility in outside business sectors such as health, government organizations, non-governmental organizations. It shows the trends in Corporate Social Responsibility, the relationship between Corporate Social Responsibility and sustainable development, social responsibility elements referenced in particular to organizations outside business sectors. Attention has been paid to the inclusion of this issue in the international standard ISO 26000 (ISO 26000:2012 Guidelines for social responsibility).
