Summary/Abstract: The aim of this article is to present its readers with legal regulations concerning the issue of entrusting third parties with insurance operations. The emphasis has been put on the evolution of statutory requirements that shall be met by the insurance agents acting for and on behalf of the insurance company by virtue of agency agreement. What is characteristic for the financial market is that not only does the legislator decide which operations insurance companies can entrust third parties with, but also the legislator introduces statutory requirements for the aforementioned entities with regard to carrying out insurance operations by them.
