Globalization of economy and transformation of the local sector − selected problems

Summary/Abstract: The integration of the world economy is characteristic for the contemporary socio- economic realities. All spatial and settlement systems are increasingly merged into one world economy. This new phase in the evolution of the global economy has an impact on the individual national economies, regional and especially local ones. There are divisions into supporters of the new dimension of development involving the use of new agents in the form of knowledge, new information technology, telecommunications, and others who present a balanced opinion, emphasizing that the phenomenon is accompanied by new forms of territorial centralization of management and control. Global economy appears very often in political and journalistic discussions, where it is shown from the perspective of important attributes, but it is not characterized by its objectivity, because the processes are not accompanied by parallel development of the local government, whose only task is to support the global expansion without being able to increase its mobility and at the same time increasing the share in regional and national participation.
