Summary/Abstract: Taking into account the requirements of ISO 9001:2008 norm, the top management of any organization should appoint a quality manager, granting him appropriate powers and delegating responsibility for the quality management system. The article attempts to identify personality traits required of a quality manager, the mode of his appointment, as well as his role and tasks fulfilled in an organization.
