Summary/Abstract: This essay presents the aesthetic views of Jean-Paul Sartre, primarily as expressed in his novel La Nausée (1938), which illustrates his approach to the times in which he lived. The significance of Sartre’s „aesthetics“, viewed as his effort to interpret de-humanization, is delineated.
