Summary/Abstract: This article presents an assessment of the level of innovation in small enterprises operating in the Lublin Voivodeship. The analysis was based on a survey conducted in 205 small businesses in the years 2008‒2011. An important factor contributing to the innovation of firms is the level of social capital, which measure is among others cooperation of companies with research entities and the creation of clusters.
