Summary/Abstract: In this article, the authors would like to present legal protection of Eurasian beaver (Castor fiber), in the Polish Republic. The Eurasian beaver is a species of beaver which was once widespread in whole Europe and it is native species in Polish Republic. This article focused on the history of development of the protection and hunting of the beaver on the territory of Poland. In the second part of this article author describe the legal tools of beaver protection, especially compensation for damages caused by them and beaver protection through the criminal law.
