Summary/Abstract: The author exposes the phenomenon of „The Book of Memory” – records made by the Jews who survived the Jewish Holocaust. He also depicts next generations who render memory of the world that is no longer existent, people who render memory of their ancestors’ origins, as well as that of the whole Jewish community of particular places. Material on „The Book of Memory” ends with a text by Katarzyna Madon-Mitzner „The Book of Ostroleka Jews” which depicts a story of „The Book” translated into Polish and published in 2002.
