Summary/Abstract: This article discusses the service biography of one of the hundreds of students and graduates of the most prestigious military school, as the Russian Imperial Army (RIA) and the Workers ‘and Peasants’ Red Army (WPRA) — Academy of the General Staff (AGSh). Alexander Iakovlevich Yanovsky lived a long life — 92 years. Almost half of them (41) were given military service, if we count its starting point the time of entrance of him in 1907 in Odessa infantry cadet school. Notably fate of our hero is that he is in all his when he was serving in the Red Army (1918–1948 gg., 30 years old) have never been arrested. The author of this article has attempted to refute the following two aspects contained in the official biography of A. Ia. Yanovski: 1) the timing of its real learning in the walls of AGSh. These were in November 1916 – January 1917, and then — study at the Higher Military-academic courses at the same Academy of WPRA in 1922–1923; 2) The provisions of the alleged voluntary service of our hero in the “white” part of the Armed Forces of South Russia (VSIUR). In reality, A. Ia. Janovski in “white” never served. In this paper, also presented in detail the way its service hero in 1920–1945 gg. from the head of the 1st Infantry Division Caucasian — up to the teacher of tactics at AGSh of the Red Army and the Chief of Staff / and Chief Rifle Corps during the Great Patriotic War.
