Summary/Abstract: The article discusses a new form of literary publication – augmented reality books. Scholarly projects and theories dealing with possible use of such technology in literature are juxtaposed with available publications which make use of augmented reality in many different ways. Analysis of books published by Carlton, Popar and Siglio show clearly when the use of augmented reality enriches and modernizes only the editorial or graphic dimension of a work, and when it allows for the creation of new literary dimensions. Between Page and Screen by A. Borsuk and B. Bouse is treated here as exceptional in this context and a source of future inspiration for the development of what could be called “literature of augmented reality.”
