Summary/Abstract: The question of the just life was a constant stimulus for the Critical Theory of the Frankfurt School. Already suggested in the early fragments of Dialectics of Enlightenment, it was explicitly raised in the Minima Moralia and never came off the agenda in the later works of thinkers like Theodor Adorno and Gunther Anders, where it directed their reflection on key problems in philosophy of morals (the relationship between theory and practice, the problem of free will, ethics as an ideological construct, etc.). In this article it is approached as a question of the form in which the ideal of a meaningful moral practice can be realized in our times. The author's basic thesis is that, in a world where moral regulation in the perspective of ideal principles has been discredited to a great degree after its repressive character was revealed, the only possibility for a just life amidst the unjust is resistance to concrete evils.
