A set of herbs employed for medical treatment was associated primarily with the local flora, the living conditions of the population, and the types of the diseases. The knowledge of the plants’ healing properties provided the people with an opportunity to use them in treatment of various diseases. The article is concerned with the use of various parts of the tree (bark, leaves, twigs, flowers, buds, berries, and earrings), resin, pulp, and tree juice by Karelian population for medicinal purposes.
