Summary/Abstract: The topic of this article is the issue of subjectification of women considered from the perspective of the works of Michel Foucault. It analyses the ideological programs of selected feministic currents (the feminism of equality and the concept of gradual social reforms, as present in the first and second waves of Western feminism), as well as what is communicated by lifestyle television channels, of similar content. Paradoxically, both emancipatory feministic discourses and the channel of thematic guidance addressed to women provide examples of the practices of "normation" and normalisation. The truth produced in these discourses is legitimised by the authority of the humanities and social sciences or by experts, and it provides symbolic resources, ascribes meaning, and generates content of the beliefs of individuals, thereby influencing their decisions. This manner of exercising power continuously produces disciplined and responsible women who direct their own actions. At the same time, the ideas of freedom, autonomy and empowerment obscure the mechanisms of their subjectification.
