Summary/Abstract: Diversity is the inherent feature of contemporary societies. Recommended by the EU verdict indications of solutions for managing diversity in organizations it therefore focuses on two areas. Firstly, the organization has to eliminate all the phenomena of favourable discrimination and exclusion, and secondly its goal is to develop a competitive advantage of the company built on the basis of human capital in terms of its diversity. The purpose of this article is to point out the potential benefits from the perception of diversity as a vital element of organization and its management. First, the author identifies the dimensions of diversity in relation to the organization. There are exposed the benefits of adopting the perspective of diversity management from the point of view of the development of human capital. In the last part of the article the author refers to the practice of managing diversity in Polish organizations by analysing available network disseminated by the company − the signatories of the Charter of Diversity of data.
