The role of natural values in the local development in the light of the strategic documents on the example of selected Lublin communes

Summary/Abstract: In the article the problem of use of natural values for local development objectives was discussed. Some conclusions from the analysis of key strategic documents realized by selected local governments were presented. For research objectives 7 administrative units were choosen, where two national parks and their buffer zones are located, i.e. Roztoczanski National Park and Poleski National Park. In particular, the issue of treatment of values as strength in SWOT analysis was considered, including their presence in priority development objectives. The sphere of planning and undertaking of real action of local authorities towards strengthening the natural potential and developing the tourist infrastructure was also taken into considerations.
