Local development and nature conservation: some problems by the example of the communes of the Lublin Province

Summary/Abstract: In the article the problem of reconciliation the development of rural areas with the conservation of natural resources was discussed. By analysis made in the lubelskie voivodship the Author has indicated some potential conflicts that can appear in the nearest future.. The question of the use of natural values for local development in the context of the deficiences existing in official staff was mentioned, especially including small number of people who work in municipalities and have sufficient knowledge for making right decisions in the area of exploration of nature. The considerations are also about the daily law enforcement, among others the assessment of the environmental impact of investment projects. In the last part of work some results of research that showUtile activity of the local governments in the process of creation of new forms of nature protection were presented.
