Politics as an object of study in the realities of political science instrumentalization of reason

Summary/Abstract: The article consists of two parts. In the first, the author presents the specifics of political science, with particular emphasis on political theory. He performs diagnosis of their contemporary condition, especially in the Polish context. He puts forward the thesis of the instrumentalization of political science. He points that if the main subject of political scientists research is a politics that they should not refrain from attempts to define it. Theoretical and methodological pluralism does not change anything in this regard. For this reason, in the second part of the article he shows own definition of politics.
