Summary/Abstract: Demography is one of the very important power factors in geopolitics, fact confirmed by the geopolitical literature ever since its classical period until present days. The current global demographic transformation emphases even more the necessity of this specific analysis in the field. Regarding the case of Romania, to study these dimension is crucial because of the acute negative demographic evolution. Basically it follows some of the regional trends characteristics specific to European Union (from the perspective of the demographic decline, aging perspectives), but also the one specific for Central and Eastern Europe (the emigration issue, abortion, etc). These evolution stay under the signs of an acute demographic crisis, with possible repercussions on the long term, not only at societal level, but even at the geopolitical one. In this context, the present research aims to offer, in a very well articulated frame, a complex analysis of the main demographic vulnerabilities for Romania, that can emphasis its main societal and geopolitical threats on the long term.
