Summary/Abstract: This monograph aims as much as possible to explain the complexity of the problems of public service (Staroňová – Staňová – Sičáková-Beblavá, 2014, p. 8) It is recalled that the management of human resources in the private sector is controlled more easily than in the public sector, namely in public service. The reason why this is so, is politics. The publication is thus divided into three parts, logically following each other. The first part deals with concepts, models and systems of public service. It is divided into four chapters. The second part of the monograph discusses the topic of civil service management. It is divided into six chapters. The third part contains a chapter in which the author debates relations between politics and administration and the politicization of public service. The following publication also includes a glossary of terms, and is complemented by a number of boxes, tables and charts.
