Summary/Abstract: This article tries to evaluate how Transylvania magazine helped Romanian historiography to develop and how much space was allocated for works which had as a main subject medieval and antique history. We have analyzed the studies in order to underline the main themes it was dealt with. Nevertheless, we have looked at the authors in order to see to what extent did the magazine publish the papers of professional historians. The research also wants to enrich knowledge about the way in which history was written in the second part of the 19th century and the first part of the 20th century. The documentary base of this research resides in the survey of the contents of Transylvania magazine during 1868-1919, and also in the use of the specific bibliography.
