New model of the European cohesion policy and its implications for social and economic development in Poland

Summary/Abstract: The paper presents the major changes to the cohesion policy to be implemented in Poland in 2014-2020, as compared with the previous programming period. The author focuses on the adopted priorities and areas to support within the framework of the cohesion policy and presents the principles for financing development activities. The paper also discusses the issues related to the widening of social and economic gaps in Polish regions and the possibility of narrowing development gaps as a result of implementing the cohesion policy.
